Want to design a trait card for a future Doomlings release? The official Create-a-Card Competition is back!
Do you have the perfect idea for a new trait card? Now is your chance to see it in the game and win awesome prizes! The 1st place artist will receive a $150 Doomlings store credit and best of all...their design will become a REAL Doomlings card! 2nd place will receive a $100 Doomlings store credit, and 3rd place will receive a $50 Doomlings store credit. HOW TO ENTER:
1. Create your trait card artwork - it can be either hand drawn or digital. We're good with either!
2. Name your trait card and create it's effect.
3. Post it on Instagram, our Discord, or Facebook Group - tag @Doomlings, and include one sentence on why you want to see it in the game.
At 2:00pm PST / 5:00pm EST July 20th, the initial entry period for this contest will close. Then, 5 finalists will be picked by Team Doomlings. From July 21st to 24th at 11:59pm PST fans will choose the winning card by voting for their favorite on Instagram! Follow our Instagram @Doomlings to vote.

RULES & MORE INFO:
To enter, share your design in a post on Instagram, our Discord, or Facebook Group. Then, you must tag @Doomlings and include one sentence on why you want to see it in the game. We are only allowing one entry per person, so please only submit ONE design.
The card designed must be a trait card, and it must have a name. For example, the name must be either A) a trait name that’s scientific or silly (Opposable Thumbs, Tiny Little Melons); B) an animal or a plant to represent (Flying Squirrel, Helicopter Seeds); or C) a characteristic to represent (Musical, Two-Headed).
The initial entry period for card designs will close on July 20th 2:00pm PST / 5:00pm EST. Then, 5 finalists will be picked by Team Doomlings. From July 21st - 24th at 11:59pm PST, fans will choose the winning card by voting on Instagram! Follow our Instagram @Doomlings to learn how to vote.
The winning artwork will be redrawn up by an official Doomlings artist and will change slightly for final production.
The effect & value of the card are subject to change.
There is no effective timeline for when the card will be released.
Plagiarism of any kind will not be tolerated. If we find your artwork or idea is stolen from another source, you will be disqualified.
AI art won’t be disqualified, but, we will heavily favor non-ai submissions when judging. If you submit an AI piece, the odds of it winning will be less than an actual designed/drawn piece.
The most important thing we’re looking for is unique concepts and out-of-the-box thinking. So the concept is the most important thing: even if you’re not a great artist, it's not all about technical execution, it’s mostly about the idea! We highly encourage you to draw your own Doomling (versus using AI). This is a company founded by someone who, at the time, didn’t know how to draw - your Doomling can be simple! It all started with balls with eyes!
Card designs of an R-rated nature will not be considered. Doomlings is a family-friendly game, so keep that in mind with your design.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Can I design an age or catastrophe card?No. This contest is for a trait card design only. Ages and catastrophes will not be considered. However, we may hold another competition for ages and catastrophes in the future, so keep your good ideas in mind!
Can I enter more than once?No. Because of the overwhelming (and exciting!) amount of interest, we are only allowing ONE card design per person. If you design more than one, we will only count the first design that you enter.
I can't draw :( but I have an amazing idea, what do I do?You should go ahead and give it a shot anyways. I'm sure your drawing will come out great! Either way - the final card will be redrawn by an official Doomlings artist before it is released. So there is no need to worry!
Can I use AI for the artwork?Yes. AI art won’t be disqualified, but, we will heavily favor non-ai submissions when judging. If you submit an AI piece, the odds of it winning will be less than an actual designed/drawn piece. We highly encourage you to draw your own Doomling instead of using AI.
Why are you allowing AI artwork?For the first Create-a-Card competition in 2024, we did not allow AI artwork. It has been two years since then - and AI engines have become ever prevalent and some of our fans really enjoy using them. To be frank - it sometimes is hard to tell what is AI and what isn't now-a-days! So, to avoid accidentally disqualifying anyones artwork that isn't AI, we are allowing it this time.
How will you know if my artwork is AI or not?Most of the time, there are a lot of stylistic clues that give away if you have used AI. If you are nervous about us thinking your artwork was made by an AI engine, simply record a video of you drawing and designing it (whether in real life, or as a screen recording) and share that alongside your submission!
My Instagram account is private, can I still enter?Yes! Please share a screenshot of your entry by either DMing us on Instagram, or sending it to info@doomlings.com to be entered to win.
Do I need to add an effect and point value?No, it is not required. However, if you have a fun idea - feel free to add it! Just be aware that the effect and point value may change completely once the card is released. (We will need to carefully play-test the final card to make sure it doesn't break the game!)
Can I design a Dinoling, Mythling, or Techling?Yes! Feel free to draw inspiration from any previous expansions.
When will the card come out?We do not have any effective timeline for when it will be released. But rest assured, we will make a big announcement when it finally does!
